Step 1: Ensure Salesforce Access

  • Existing Salesforce Users:

Verify that you have administrative access to your Salesforce instance.

Make sure your Salesforce edition supports Einstein Copilot (check the specific requirements and supported editions).

  • New Salesforce Users:

Sign up for Salesforce and set up your CRM environment.

Choose the Salesforce edition that includes Einstein capabilities.



Step 2: Enable Einstein Copilot

  • Navigate to Setup:

Log in to Salesforce.

Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner and select "Setup."

  • Search for Einstein Setup:

In the Quick Find box, type "Einstein Setup."

Select "Einstein Setup" from the search results and enable it.

  • Search for Einstein Copilot:

In the Quick Find box, type "Einstein Copilot."

Select "Einstein Copilot Settings" from the search results.

  • Enable the Feature:

Follow the on-screen instructions to enable Einstein Copilot.

Configure the necessary settings, such as permissions and data access, to ensure it aligns with your organization’s requirements.



Step 3: Configure Einstein Copilot

Here’s a practical example of getting started with Salesforce Einstein Copilot, A company named “Edge Communications” has employees. Each employee will be saved as a contact. We are going to send a welcome email to those employees by introducing ourself as Account Executive using einstein copilot.


Steps to implement:


1. As we are going to send a welcome email, we should create an email template.

2. We should create an apex class for sending the email to the employee. In order to use apex in einstein copilot we must be create an invocable methods. 



3.An einstein copilot action needs to be created by using reference action as apex and should select the relevant apex class. You can use flows and prompt template as well to create an apex action.




4.The newly created copilot action should be added to the einstein copilot. In Einstein copilot setting, Click Einstein Copilot, found at the bottom of the page.

5.Open Builder and deactivate the copilot in order to add a new Action. You will find the newly created action under Copilot Action Library. Assign the required action to the Copilot. You can preview the action in the builder by giving prompts.

6.After adding the required Copilot action, activate the Copilot.



7.On the Home Page of Sales console, you may find the Einstein button. Click on that to open the Conversational Window.

8.To send an email to the employee, start giving prompts in the conversation window.



9.The apex class will be triggered and an email will be sent to the employee.
